I think that you cannot expect everybody to follow the development as it goes necesserily. 
bback has noticed something that he didn't like and he's letting you know that there is a 
better way, it doesn't mean that he's trying to undermine the progress or anything.

Sort of like programming in Java through Exceptions rather than get-methods...
