They do work. It's backward compatible; this will be removed eventually
however, so new SSKs should be created.
The reason you didn't get a message on the announce board was probably
that I didn't post one... I couldn't get the node to work with both
networks at once, and didn't bother to start up an old node to do the
announce... :|
