[16:21] <zeboul> hello !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[16:24] <nextgens> hi
[17:17] <intgr> nextgens: I was downloading at 500-700 bytes/second on average.
[17:18] <intgr> I think
[17:18] * Romster (n=romster@tor/session/x-df666fcf6973bdbb) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[17:18] <nextgens> intgr> which url ?
[17:19] <nextgens> something like http://downloads.freenetproject/ or freenetproject/snapshots ?
[17:19] <intgr> http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/freenet-latest.jar
[17:19] <nextgens> the official donwload link is^w should be http://downloads.freenetproject.org/freenet-latest.jar :)
[17:20] <nextgens> try with this one ;)
[17:22] <nextgens> intgr> where did you get this url ? are they still unfixed urls on the project's webpage ?
[17:22] <intgr> nextgens: The updater for Gentoo.
[17:23] <nextgens> same place for seedfiles ;)
[17:23] <intgr> And I remember getting awfully slow downloads with the Java updater as well - and since it couldn't resume downloads, it took 10 tries to finally receive the update.
[17:23] <nextgens> I dunno who is maintaining gentoo's ebuilds
[17:24] <nextgens> the new updater should be faster as it should fetch them from the main download site
[17:24] <nextgens> SF is slow for big files ; that's a known issue :/
[17:24] <intgr> It's much faster than that.
[17:30] * panta-admin (n=tester@81.189.102.241) has joined #freenet
[17:30] <panta-admin> hi, are you still looking for machines for your testbed ?
[17:32] <nextgens> hi panta-admin
[17:32] <panta-admin> hi nextgens
[17:33] <nextgens> yes, but toad is off on sundays ... and it's a bit useless without him
[17:33] <panta-admin> thats fine, i am just trying to find out if the box could be of use:
[17:34] <panta-admin> i got a spare P3-500 with 256 megs of ram and a few gigs of hd space collecting dust in my bathroom
[17:34] <panta-admin> i am on residential ADSL so there is not too much bandwidth but it would run 14/7
[17:34] <panta-admin> 24/7 even
[17:35] <panta-admin> do you think it would be of use ?
[17:35] <nextgens> yes, definitly
[17:35] <nextgens> join #freenet-alphatest ;)
[17:36] <panta-admin> so in a few days when I have time i will set up debian and install 0.7 according to the instructions on the wiki, sounds like a plan ?
[17:36] <nextgens> yes
[17:36] <panta-admin> is sarge fine ?
[17:37] <nextgens> yes
[17:37] <panta-admin> one last q: i dont want to choke my ADSL line, so is the bandwidth limiting working ? if not I would maybe try to throttle outgoing connections on my debian router
[17:38] <panta-admin> that should not be a problem right ?
[17:39] <nextgens> no, b/w limiting is working 'to well' on .7
[17:40] <nextgens> you specify the amount of bandwith you'd like to spare and it will transfert exactly that amount :)
[17:40] <panta-admin> cool, so I will be back on #freenet-alphatest in a few days
[17:41] <panta-admin> gotta run, nice chatting with you, cheers !
[17:41] <nextgens> seeya :)
